SIMPLY DIVING MANAGER JOINS PADI ELITE
SIMPLY DIVING Dive Operations Manager Simon Bell took the final giant step up to the top level of PADI Trainer this summer after securing a highly prized place on the prestigious Course Director Training Course.
The dive centre owner is now the only PADI Course Director on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
Simon joined a global array of candidates from 22 countries to spend ten tough days being put through his paces on the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic.
The PADI CDTC brought in experienced scuba diving instructors from across Europe and from countries as far away as Korea, Japan, Chile, Russia and America to name but a few.
All had to pass strict course entrance criteria and had between them certified literally thousands of PADI divers of all levels in their lifetimes as dive teachers and professionals.
The brand new PADI Course Directors are now qualified to pass on their wealth of knowledge and experience to teach the PADI Instructor Development Course to PADI Instructors of the future.
Simon said: “It felt like an incredible honour to get accepted on the course in the first place. But to come out the other side as a PADI Course Director is without doubt one of the best achievements of my life.
“I can’t wait to get started with my first PADI IDC and already have some eager victims lined up!”
PADI President Drew Richardson was quick to send his own personal message. “I would like to personally congratulate Simon for completing the Course Director Training Course recently in the Dominican Republic,” he said.
“It’s an accomplishment to be very proud of. We value and appreciate Simon’s support of PADI and wish him and the Simply Diving team continued success.”
