For those of you looking to join the leaders of the pack, look no further. Because Simply Diving Costa del Sol Spain can provide you with everything you need…

The PADI Divemaster programme is your entry into leadership level in the PADI system of diver education and can be accomplished as an Internship or 2-3 week course.

What does a PADI Divemaster do?
  • Works with dive centres, on liveaboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations
  • Assists PADI Instructors with scuba classes
  • Leads PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
  • Teaches and certifies PADI Skin Divers
  • Conducts PADI Scuba Reviews for certified divers
  • Conducts Discover Local Diving
  • Teaches the Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Course
  • Teaches Emergency First Response CPR and First Aid
What does it take to become a PADI Divemaster?
  • Learn dive leadership skills through classroom sessions and the PADI Divemaster Manual and DVD
  • Complete a series of waterskills and stamina exercises
  • Three required training exercises that test organisational and problem solving abilities:
    1. Mapping a dive site, including underwater and surface features
    2. Equipment exchange: demonstrate the ability to solve unanticipated problems underwater
    3. Conduct a simulated or actual class, under the supervision of a PADI Instructor

PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by teaching you to supervise dive activities and assist Instructors with student divers.

The rating denotes you as a person who:

  • Has a high level of personal diving skills
  • Has Instructor level knowledge of diving theory
  • Has had significant training in how to assist an Instructor during training activities
  • Is able to assume appropriate responsibilities that benefit the welfare of other divers

During the PADI Divemaster programme, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organise and solve problems. You put this knowledge into action through an internship or series of practical training exercises.

As you may know, many PADI Divemasters go on to become PADI Instructors. So, the training and experience you gain through the PADI Divemaster programme helps shape your abilities and attitude toward becoming a professional level diving educator.
